These are often updated and changed over time to adapt to clients’ ever-changing needs. To expand on why we work with the NDIS and how this extends to our clients, we have compiled a few reasons highlighting why we love working with the NDIS and how it impacts our client’s lives.
Support plans
When our clients join our community, they can create their own Support Plan. Our team of support workers are experienced in this area and can aid clients with structuring this plan. The type of support in these plans can include:
- Transport to and from community, social and daily life activities.
- Assistance with household tasks to allow the participant to maintain their home environment, such as cleaning services.
- Providing the opportunity to develop new skills through education.
This plan can be customised to suit each client’s requirements, it’s never set in stone and can be updated with changes as required. Once this plan is complete, our support team will assist each client with achieving their goals as set out in their care model, including budget parameters.
Financial support
When our clients are eligible for the NDIS they can implement a series of goals to work towards. The funding received through the NDIS includes a range of benefits such as:
- Provides our clients the opportunity for greater independence to apply for a new job or volunteering role.
- Our clients gain improved access to the community through engaging with sporting clubs, community groups, libraries and schools.
This funding encourages our clients to integrate into their local community, which can be challenging without financial support. Our support workers aid clients through this journey as they require, which can entail taking them to their sporting club activities or assisting them with workwear, resumes and job applications.
Community connection
The NDIS understands how important it is to ensure each participant feels welcomed and supported in their local environment. We assist our clients to engage with the community through different avenues such as:
- Providing an understanding of the scope of local support available to align with our client’s goals.
- We can provide options for consideration such as local groups with like-minded individuals or participation in community projects such as community garden care.
